The governor of Imo State Owelle Rochas Okorocha has said that what the Igbos need now is the Movement for the Economic Survival of Igbo People (MOESIP) and not any movement for the sovereign State of Biafra stating that leaders from other geo-Political Zones supporting the secession movement do not love the Igbos.
He also called for the revival of the Political relationship of the North with the Igbos. Read the full text of Governor Okorocha’s speech;
“I have watched and read with keen interest the developments happening in our Country with respect to the comments by IPOB and subsequent reaction by the AREWA YOUTH GROUPS”.
“I wish I do not speak on these matters or make any categorical comment as not to be misconstrued, misrepresented or misinterpreted. But despite the political implications, I make bold to speak to my Igbo brothers and Sisters and to our friends the Arewa and their leaders on these critical matters if only to save the lives of our generation yet unborn”.
“You may recall that the issue of IPOB and MASSOB in the recent times has been making headlines in various media houses and the social media especially with many people giving different interpretations to the groups. Some see them as some uninformed youths calling for the sovereignty of the Biafra nation. Some see them as some groups seeking for personal recognition and aggrandizement for the purpose of political patronage. And for some other people, it is an invitation of what has happened in other geo-political zones in agitation just to get power and form the government at the centre as assumed to be the practice in the past”.
“You may also recall that some people believe that the South-West became President of Nigeria because of the agitation by the Oduduwa group with respect to June 12 and that brought General Obasanjo as the President. Some argued that President Goodluck Jonathan came because of the agitation of the Niger Delta region for resource control and marginalization. Of recent it was also believed that President Buhari came in as President because of the agitation from Boko Haram in the recent past”.
“Let me also mention that whatever is the reason for the agitation from different groups whether right or wrong, I feel it is an ill wind that has done this nation no good”.
“If you may recall, only few months ago I have pleaded and made request for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, making excuses for him and his group as youthful exuberance and I stated that keeping him in prison would command for him unwarranted popularity and fellowship. Shortly after that and followed by the comments from the South-East Governors, Nnamdi Kanu was released, and only again to hear about the sit at home order by IPOB”.
“Let me correct the impression that the South-East people and leaders supported the sit at home order. It is not true, two factors contributed. The sit at home order came shortly after the democracy day holiday and our people in their natural character would want to enjoy the holiday to the fullest, hence, considering that the day was 30th, so many people continued the holiday. And the second and most important reason was that most traders had the fear of hoodlums taking advantage of the situation to disturb them and so stayed at home. It is not true that the sit at home order was purposely obeyed as support for IPOB”.
“Let me present an Igbo man in a practical manner. An Igbo man is a peace loving man found at all nooks and crannies of the world. There is no place you go without finding an Igbo man either building the bridge of friendship or creating brotherhood, and at the same time developing and contributing immensely to the socio-economic development of that area. Igbo man is a more practical Nigerian because they are the only people to be found in all nooks and crannies of Nigeria”.
“In recent times, the impression given is that an Igbo man enjoys violence. Let me put it clear. Igbo man is not a troublesome man and not a man associated with violence. All he does is to enjoy his commerce and do his trading for the betterment of his family and society at large”.
“Let me inform all Nigerians that Igbos will remain peace-loving people and good Nigerians wherever they are found. If there is any group of people who had laid their lives and shed more blood for the unity of this country that person is an Igbo man”.
“Therefore at this material time, let me remind all Nigerians that the Igbos are the people that developed Lagos and major Cities in this Country. Igbos have made major investments in this country than any other group making an investment in Igbo land”.
“Therefore, I think, the statements by IPOB and subsequent ones by AREWA youths are nonsensical, ill-informed and not for the best interest of Ndi Igbo neither is it for the best interest of Nigeria. I condemn in its entirety the statements of IPOB and the reaction of the AREWA YOUTH GROUP. These people who have made these statements both from the North and South-East are people who may not have seen the effects of the civil war when Nigeria went into civil war”.
“I call on all Igbo persons to disassociate themselves and every northerner and well-meaning Nigerians to distance themselves from these comments from AREWA GROUP and IPOB. Again let me call for caution for those who are calling for support for IPOB especially the non-Igbos to stop henceforth because we don’t need such support because I do know that when the chips are down, they won’t be anywhere to be found. It is deceitful and inciting and is no longer a welcome development in this part of the world”.
“I also want to caution all those our brothers and Sisters who live abroad, who are social media gurus and who never visit home and who enjoy all the sentiments created in the social media to desist from doing that henceforth. I do know that they may not understand the consequences of their writings and what they are doing. Let them also pause and think, if finally these drums of war beats, would not keep the Igbos in the Island of isolation or ignorance and poverty that we do not need.
“Igbos are major stakeholders in the entity called the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We fought for the unity of this country and having acquired the unity, the Igbos cannot be counted out in the affairs of this nation”.
“Let me again say, while I blame the AREWA youths who may have acted under provocation and taking the matter beyond scope, the statements were also very inciting and can create disaffection between the North and South-East. For the purpose of those who have forgotten, in history the South-East and North have enjoyed good political relationship especially in the days of Shagari. We have been seen as allies and partners politically. Except for this past dispensation for some myopic reasons many Igbos did not see the victory of Buhari coming and we missed the link. We need immediate refixing of this bridge of relationship between the South-East and the North”.
“I want to call on all leaders of Nigeria to speak out and condemn this act, because keeping silence anymore cannot help us in this matter, and thinking that we can benefit from these crisis is rather a disappointment. And I pray that leaders ought to take responsibilities now and teach our youths the right things to do. The people in this matter are our children, our youths and they have a duty to listen to us as their parents. It is apparent that we have failed as leaders in this nation, giving room for this hate in families, communities, states and at national levels. We need to take responsibilities as leaders to stop this campaign of hate as that will not do us any good”.
“I call on my Igbo brothers, the agitators, because there was nothing wrong doing what others are doing, your style is what is wrong. You can’t be calling for a sovereign nation inside a nation, it is absolutely wrong. If you must agitate, I purpose you agitate for the Movement for Economic Survival of Igbo People (MOESIP). That will help for the economic survival of our land, making agriculture the mainstay of our economy. That is only when we will command the respect of the rest of the world”.
“All things being equal and without the intervention of the military, I’m sure the Igbo’s would have gotten their heart desire in the political life of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. But at this time, I want to call on all leaders of Nigeria to speak out and condemn this act, because keeping silent anymore cannot help this matter”.
“And if some of us think that we can benefit from this crisis, it is rather a disappointment and I pray that leaders ought to take responsibilities now and tell the youths the right thing to do. The people involved in this matter are our children, we gave birth to them and they have a responsibility to listen to us as their parents”.
“It is apparent that we have failed as leaders in this nation and which has given room for this hate in our families, hate in communities, hate in states, hate at national level and hate in companies. We need to take responsibility as leaders. This campaign of hate and hatred on each other will not do us any good”.
“I was abroad sometimes, and I saw China & Koreans of yesterday underrated by Nigerians developing the resources of their lands. But here in Nigeria, we’re still talking about tribe and religion. It is a shame and my heart bleeds. I was in Dubai and I saw developments taking place, I saw young men moving up and down developing the resources of their land, earning foreign exchange. But we’re still talking about comments by IPOB and Arewa Youths. It’s a proper shame, my heart bleeds. I was just in Tanzania recently and South Africa, tourism flourishing in those lands, while in our own country, we’re still talking about Boko Haram and Kidnapping, what a shame, my heart bleeds”.
“I’ve been round the whole world, I see progress everywhere and developments everywhere and African nations are still waiting for Nigeria to rise and take its rightful place as leader of Africa. All we can give to African nations is which section will produce the presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and which zone shall produce the governor of a state, my heart bleeds. What a shame. It’s indeed shameful for this generation and may we never be found as a failed generation. We must never transfer failure to the subsequent generation. We must live up to our responsibilities”.
“At this crucial moment, we must have a rethink as leaders. We must change our ways because it’s obvious that the inherent hatred and division which we have got from the colonial masters and transferred to subsequent generations have not helped us. We must sing a new song of unity in this nation. We must see ourselves as brothers and sisters of one nation”.
“I call on my Igbo brothers, the agitators because there was nothing wrong in doing what others are doing, but your style is what is wrong creating a sovereign nation within existing nation. That is absolutely wrong. Your style is what is wrong”.
“As I stand now as a sitting governor, what IPOB would have wanted is for Rochas Okorocha to speak and say let’s go to war and if I do that, I do not care but I will tell you the truth I care for you. We must change our style. And for the Igbo nation, I don’t want to sound like a Pontus Pilate. I don’t want to be found passing a judgement. Please we must rethink on how we can move our economy forward”.
“Why are you misunderstood as Igbos? The reason is that they deal even better with non Igbos than with their brothers. I wish the Northerners will understand. An Igboman is the worst enemy of a fellow Igboman than people from the north. That, people don’t know about us”
“I want to appeal to all Igbos at this moment that my heart is bleeding, that we make a rethink and not join others in singing the song of division in this country”.
“We need Nigeria more than Nigeria needs us now. This is not time for Igbos to sing an alternative song of war. I want to appeal to the youths of our nation. We understand their frustration and that what we should bequeath to you as leaders is a nation devoid of hate and lack. But if you must fight, if you must blame, please blame not yourselves, blame us your leaders”.

MY GOVT HAS NOT BORROWED A DIME FROM ANY BANK – GOV. OKOROCHA

- TO MAKE LG CHAIRMEN’S TENURE 3 YEARS & NO MORE 2 YEARS.

- SPENT OVER N50 BILLION ON FREE EDUCATION

- SAYS HE WON’T RUN FOR PRESIDENCY IN 2019

Governor Rochas Okorocha has said that the Rescue Mission Government in the State which he Superintends has not borrowed from any bank, stating that opponents of his government have been talking about his borrowing from banks because of the numerous projects his administration has executed.

Governor Okorocha gave the hint when he had a breakfast meeting with Journalists in the State at his private residence in Owerri on Tuesday, March 24, 2017, adding that instead of his administration borrowing, what it had done was to pay the money borrowed by administrations before him and he has done that so that the State won’t be in debt after him.

He explained that his opponents have been imagining that he has borrowed money to be doing all that his administration has achieved in five years, stressing that the truth of the matter is that his government is not indebted to any bank.

His words “For posterity reasons, this government is not owing any bank or person, any amount except for the bailout fund that 100 million naira is been deducted from the source monthly. Any subsequent government that comes and says that Rochas borrowed is a criminal one”.

On 2019, the governor said “I will never run against President Buhari but would continue to support him in the overall interest of the nation, especially when he has stabilized the nation. I want to also say that those in Imo who made many political enemies should forget the Douglas House. We need people with free mind. I have killed the clannish nature of the state where people consider where you come from before doing anything for you. The politics of sentiment must be discarded and discouraged. It is shame for somebody to hope on zoning to win elections”.

The governor also informed that his admi

It is no longer news that Friday, the 17th day of February, 2017 will forever remain evergreen in the minds of FUTO students as the institution witnessed the worst form of protest/riot over the purported hike in tuition fees, no free Wi-Fi (as proposed), incessant increase in course registration fees and other pressing issues. The peaceful protest which was initiated by a well-known student activist, a former SUG PRO in the person of Comr. Ogbonna Collins popularly known as ‘Rochas’,turned to a violent one after he was arrested by the Department of State Security Service (DSS).
The protest began as early as 6am with mobilization of students staying off campuses before heading to the hostels to mobilize more angry Nigerian Students to join in the protest. Around 8am, the institution was lit with a peaceful march down to senate building with students on black outfit carrying placards written “Prof. F. C. Eze must go”, “Say no to hike is school fees”, “We need more banks in FUTO”, “Federal University of Money, Owerri”. No vehicle (especially staff vehicles) was allowed to enter the school; all went well not until security operatives (Police, DSS, SARS) stormed FUTO with full force like an angry lion looking for who to devour. The Vice-Chancellor on sighting the angry scampered for safety without uttering a single word to the student (which could have ended the protest).
Students later marched down to various lecture halls to make sure no lecture was ongoing. It is worthy to note that a lecturer (name withheld) was whisked out of a classroom and asked to stop his lectures for his own benefit. Everything that happened was a peaceful one. All hell went loose when our very own activist, Rochas was accosted, beaten and arrested by DSS after they engaged him in a shootout while trying to catch him. After he was whisked away, the whole protest turned violent.
Firstly, students marched to senate to destroy properties but they were stopped by the police who used tear gas to dismiss the mob. However, after much trial, students were able to destroy most of the vehicles parked at Senate, threw heavy stones on the aluminium windows, and broke the senate gate with other heavy damages. Later, the mob marched to Diamond bank where they destroyed most the facilities at the bank including vehicles parked at the bank. Before the police could intervene, the angry mob marched to the ICT building where they did the most fatal damage. Almost all the laptops, printers, UPS, scanners, and other accessories worth thousands of naira were looted in broad day. The building was vandalized and the windows were damaged. Other damages were also done at strategic buildings like Library, SEET and SMAT complex, SUG resource centre, SOSC building. Later, the police men came and intervened by arresting students, and shooting of tear gas. Sanity was later restored on campus and information came from Abuja that the students should vacate the hostels before 4pm or else face the law. Academic activities were also suspended till further notice.
Meanwhile, most students expressed their annoyance on the purported hike in tuition fee when interviewed by reporters from FUTO students’ society of Journalist. Read their reactions: “Our school fees has been unreasonably increased, imagine year one paying over 100 thousand naira for tuition and acceptance fee”, “it is a taboo for a Federal University to pay such a high amount”.
The school management is yet to make an official statement with regards to the protest, Rochas is yet to be released, students have vacated the hostels and academic activities has been shut down till further notice.

It was a moment of celebration, and more, a double one for sensational music act, Kelly Hansome and fast-rising media practitioner cum media director of Pot of Africa, Eze Chijioke when the duo marked their birthdays with the launching of an EP titled ‘4Play’ at Industry Nite.
The event was held at the usual spot, Spice Route in Victoria Island, where guests were welcomed to the black carpet by members of the media and a cocktail bar which served just the right mix to set you in the mood for 4Play.

Celebrity guests in attendance were 2Face Idibia, Marvelous Benji, AngryOwerriMan, Now Muzik CEO, Efe Omoregbe, H’Code and fast rising singers, Ckay of Chocolate City, and Acetune.

Kelly Hansome thrilled fans to a scintillating medley of songs off his newly released EP, such as Money Palava, featuring Oritse Femi, Investment, Ichezu and others. He later took his fans on a nostalgic ride of his classics like Like Play, Like Play, Maga Don Pay and more. Just when fans thought they had seen it all, they got a surprise performance from music legend, 2Face, who joined Kelly Hansome on stage with veteran singer Morachi.

For the young talented media practitioner, Eze Chijioke is a name that sends a jingle to most individuals and corporate bodies in Nigeria and West Africa at large. The River state born entrepreneur is the first in a family of eight, preceding 2 girls and 5 boys.

His primary education took him to Central School, Igwuruta in Ikwere Local Government area of Rivers State, before cross carpeting to Central School Inyishi, in Ikeduru Local Government Area, Imo State, where he obtained his first school leaving certificate.

He further enrolled into Premier Secondary school, Owerri, Imo State, as a boarding student, consequently coinciding with his parents relocating to Denmark.

In 2007, he attained his WASSCE, instigating his admission into Kwame Nkuruma University of Science and Technology, Kumasi Ghana, where he obtained a Bsc in Computer Science.

Upon his graduation in 2012, he reversed to Nigeria in an attempt to properly enforce a media and publicity company, which was formally established in 2005, during his days in Secondary School. Growing up, he has always had interest in computers and electronics, contributing to his vast knowledge in graphic designs and camera handling.

His quest for more knowledge in information technology paraded him at T-technologies Nigeria Limited, where he studied computer networking and programming in various machine languages including, Java, Oracle and many others.
However, in 2005, he partnered with his friend and colleague, Kingsley Orji to conceive and establish a blogging site, with the name POT OF AFRICA. Meanwhile, during his study days in Ghana, he made several tours to various West African Countries making series of rugged researches on the uses of POT in various ethnic African communities.
Favour Ibex is idealistic and believes in innovative techniques for the achievement of his objectives, which state his vision of educating and entertaining through news, event-broadcast, documentaries, movies etc, while also advertising goods and services to the world with the objective of promoting companies, businesses, skilled and talented individuals, thus bringing them to limelight. The media is abuzz with praises for the Chief of staff to the Imo State Government, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu as he made true his pledge to ensure that a former Super Eagles player, Kelechi Emeteole is not abandoned to a fatal fate as the former Heartland FC of Owerri, Enugu Rangers and El-Kanemi Warriors is being ravaged by a cancerous tumor in his throat.

The compassionate Chief Aide to Imo State Governor was moved by the pathetic story of the ex-international as reported in the Social media vowed never to delay in doing good to his fellow humans as long as it is in his powers to do so.
As early as 8:am today, a popular sports journalist and OAP, Solomon Mourinho got invitation to the Government House to lead a team of few aides of his to the house of Chief Emeteole who has unfortunately lost the use of his voice due to a remedial surgery performed on his throat.
The representatives of the Chief of staff presented a cheque of Three hundred thousand naira (N300,000) to the obviously elated Emeteole in the presence of his equally elated wife. The donation which is expected to cover the initial expenses for the surgery is a huge relief to the ailing soccer veteran who had almost lost hope of getting the necessary medical attention as the sickness had drained his resources long before the accurate diagnosis was carried out.
On what motivates him to extend help to those who are in need, the young real estate mogul turned politician said: "God blessed me that I may bless others. I did not get to where I am today by being too smart, too wise or too righteous, but by God's special grace and I shall remain an instrument through which God brings joy to homes and hearts of as many people as possible. I pray that God heals our own Caterpillar, for we have done the little we can do as humans, but the ultimate intervention shall come from the Most High God, who heals and saves lives."
Also, the Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozuruigbo donated the sum of 200 thousand Naira in support of the humanitarian intervention led by Chief Nwosu.

According to the wife, a hospital in Delhi India demanded 11 thousand dollars for the procedure but a Nigerian Professor in Enugu says about 2 million naira will do the job.
He now breathes with the aid of a pipe attached to his neck. He has been diagnosed with The  cancer of the voice box which has affected his heart. He needs surgery to save his life as soon as possible.

Kelechi Emetole served this nation effectively with the likes of Christian Chukwu ,Odegbami to mention but a few. He also served Imo, Abia, Enugu and Anambara through The Spartans Fc, Iwuanyanwu Nationale, Heartland and Rangers international. He led Heartland to the Finals of the Champions league in 2009.

El-kanemi and Rangers are owing him for services he rendered graciously including Heartland  since 2009.

Please send your donations directly to
Kelechi Emetole ,1007868369, UBA.

Well meaning Nigerians are also encouraged not to relent in making their donations to ensure the treatment and upkeep of the man popularly known as Caterpillar and his family.

May God Bless you as you help to save the life of one of us.

In a short message, Okeoma the over excited ManU fan  shared on his Facebook, reads:

"Having seen off every determined Southampton FC today in a league cup final , there is no gain saying the fact that Manchester United (the pride of English football) are very determined, focused, ready, energized, spurred and eager to win the remaining two trophies they are gunning for.

"Despite the strong opponents, United would emerge the Champions of the FA and Europa cups at the end of the current season.

"Winning laurels have a long way of spurring a team to go for more glories and what United have done this evening, treble at the end of the campaign will not be an impossible feat.

Glory glory man UTD......." he stated.

PDP National chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff has denied media reports that former president Goodluck Jonathan has asked him and senator Ahmed Makarfi to resign their positions as a way of resulting the protracted leadership crisis of the party.

There were media reports yesterday that Jonathan had prevailed on both men to resign their positions so that a new convention can be held were another chairman of the party would emerge.

However in a statement released by the acting publicity secretary of PDP, Bernard Mikko last night, Sheriff said the report is false.
“The general public, PDP members and the media are hereby informed that the issue of the National Chairman’s resignation as the political solution has never been discussed nor was it put up for discussion with former President and other stakeholders. The general public; PDP members nationwide and the media are hereby informed that shortly before the Court of Appeal judgement of 17th February, 2017; all parties and stakeholders agreed that on the receipt of the court of appeal judgement whichever way it goes; members will be prevailed upon and urged to support the judgement and orders of the court of appeal and rally round the successful party to conduct; as soon as possible a national unity convention for the election of officers; the modalities of which shall be worked out by all stakeholders of the party. The National Chairman has promised and undertaken not to contest” he said

As the APC state congresses are being awaited, Governor Rochas Okorocha, as the leader of the party in Imo State, has announced new leadership structures for the three senatorial zones.

According to sources, Owerri zone has Prince Eze Madumere, the Deputy Governor as Zonal Leader,  while the Secretary to the  Government,  Sir George Ezenna Eche as the  Facilitator.
In Okigwe zone, the Speaker Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Acho Ihim becomes the zonal leader while Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu becomes the Facilitator.

However, that of Orlu zone is said to be peculiar with the Governor's cronies serving in the two capacities. While Hon Uche Nwosu, Chief of Staff Government House and Okorocha's Son-in-Law becomes the zonal  Apex leader, the elder sister to the Governor, Mrs Geraldine Obinali is the Facilitator.

It was gathered however that sooner or later, the 27 LGAs will have facilitators comprising of a Secretary, Youths and Women. All appointments according to the sources will be formalised at an inauguration to be announced soon.
Our sources however said that the affairs of APC are trusted in the hands of the Apex leaders and Facilitators, an indirect way by Okorocha to have sacked or dissolved the entire APC leadership structure across the state put in place before now.

There was pandemonium at Tetlow road in Owerri, the Imo State capital, when members of National youth service corps clashed with suspected Northern fraudsters, believed to be money swindlers.

The corps members who reportedly returned from Abia state where they participated in the 2016, batch B, stream 11 orientation program clashed with the alleged fraudsters for allegedly using mystical means to swindle them of their 40,000 (forty thousand Naira) which included their first monthly allowance which was paid them on camp.

The corps members numbering about eight told our correspondent at the scene of the crime that the two Northerners operating with two monkeys, unknowingly to them pretentiously rammed into them with their monkeys, that was how the forty thousand Naira they were returning with got disappeared.

According to the enraged fresh graduates, when the two accused persons who were looking very unkept rammed into them, they quickly apologized to them, but minutes later they realized that the money that was in the pocket of one of them was missing.

Curious to recover their missing money, they confronted the suspects, but they denied knowledge of the crime.

They raised the alarm which attracted the attention of passersby who queried the suspects and threatened to administer jungle justice on them before they finally owned up to the crime.

But the situation became intense when the suspects could only bring 28,000 (twenty eight thousand Naira) out of the acclaimed missing 40, 000.

The corps members insisted that the suspects must complete the amount, holding them, while the people threatened to beat up the accused persons.

The suspects who were begging the corps members together with the mob not to attack them, resulted to self defense by using their two monkeys to prevent the crowd from attacking them.

The situation degenerated into a rowdy one, as the road which is a commercial nerve center was temporarily locked down, with traders and shop owners forced to close shops over fear of their goods being destroyed in the ensuing crisis.

Some people around said that the suspects were known for using the monkeys in a pretentious manner to swindle people of their money on the Bank road.

When contacted, the police Public Relations Officer in the state, Andrew Enwerem, said that the matter had yet to be reported to him.

It was a thrilling moment at the Winners' Chapel, Owerri, as Hon Dcn Chike Okeafor thrilled the congrgation on Sunday 19th February, 2017, as thousands of Christian faithful gathered to experience the presence of God during the Priase and Worship progranme of the Winners' Chapel Youths Alive Fellowship.

The programme was a praise and worship, through which the congregation sought to experience God's presence in a more tangible way.

The Worship and Praise programme which was nicknamed "WAP Season 4", was tagged "BOW BEFORE HIS THRONE".

It featured ministrations from dazzling trend setters; Deacon Chike Okafor, Preye, Obele, Friends, etc.

Both the Church main auditorium situated at #1 Winners' Ring Road, Off Port Harcourt Road, Owerri Imo State, and it's overflow, were filled with the awesome presence of God as the Youth organised  Praise and Worship Team, WAP Season 4, opened heaven through praise ministered in songs.

The praise and worship ministration comprised a selection of highly anointed and musically gifted members of the church performing live, which included Arch Angel and Winners' Youth Choir.

Through the ministration of music the worship team led the church into the presence of the Lord and prepared their hearts for the entrance of God’s word.

The magnificent church building was livened with special songs rendition and was highly electrified with an atmosphere of praise, worship, comedy and choreography.

Ministering during praise and worship was a special guest and sensational soul singer, Deacon Chike John Okafor, member of Nigerian House of Representatives, who declared that "God is my Foundation and Cornerstone", proclaiming: "If praising my God makes me irresponsible, I better remain irrepressible".

Concluding, the Chairman House of Representatives  Committee on Health Matters and former  Commissioner for Finance Imo State, Hon Dcn Chike Okafor charged all Christians to always find time to praise and worship him, not minding one's position, situation and challenges in life.

The Youth Alive Fellowship was a glorious moment of spiritual impartation as God manifested himself in different ways, and the congregation was blessed.

Time and season have proved that  the Rescue  Mission Administration in Imo State under the able, visionary and dynamic leadership of the State Governor His Excellency Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha has made significant improvement in the area of city beautification and has gone  a long way  to improve the ecstatic nature of the state. Indeed his good works cannot be swept under the carpet. It is obvious that he has made meaningful contributions  and undeniable  impacts, but unfortunately; the more he strives to make a difference by changing the outlook of the state,  the more his critics work harder to misrepresent issues ,misinterpret and misinform the general public about his meaningful and selfless contributions towards a better Imo State.

Before we  proceed to outline Governor Okorocha`s impact in the area of city beautification, it would be pertinent to go back to memory lane to recall that city beautification in the past was majorly planting of grass and flowers under the Clean and Green Initiative of his successor and the concentration was only within the municipal but City Beautification programme under Governor Rochas inline with his Imo My Pride Agenda  has touched all the three Senatorial Zones in the State.

Looking around Owerri Municipal today, one may be forced to ask where are the grasses planted by the former PDP regime? Those things are no more because they have no sustainability value, may be it was temporarily designed not to last long.

However; a case study of the city beautification programmes of the governor as captured in his Imo my Pride project revealed a significant, dramatic and innovative transformation of the environment. No  matter how you hate him or try to deny the truth about his city beautification projects , any unbiased observer in the state can boldly identify and testify about the  significant improvements the governor has made in environmental transformation through his strategic and impactful city beautification projects.

For instance the relaxation centre he constructed before the Government or behind Dauglass House Souvenir with Water Fountain beside it, is a beautiful sight to behold, there is a second Water Fountain  beside the Rock View  Hotel, they are all fantastic and strategic beautification projects carried out by the governor to give the state  environment a face lift so as to improve its tourism potentials.

A visit to Government house through the main entrance gate  creates a good image and impression about the state and her people. In the past it was not so because the past regime neglected it and it turned a comfort zone for criminals due to total abandonment. To God be the glory that toady the entire atmosphere has totally changed, it is now a beauty to behold and it has turned into a choice place of relaxation and mutual interaction by old and young who regularly visit the place. The Water Fountain and Relaxation Centre near government House is indeed a beautiful background to take pictures. This  same place has put food on the tables of some Imo people, as photographers are now making brisk business there through their wait and get pictures. Young people go there to take pictures, because of the beautified environment, some musicians who released new albums recently have used the place,

Also at Orlu Road Junction there is a double water fountain there one is called Freedom Water Falls, erected  beside the Freedom Square , the second one is opposite it.  The Freedom Roundabout there was also constructed by the Rescue Mission Regime of Governor with the image of a man with broken chains, signifying a freed man .He also constructed the foot bridge around the same place. All these as  strategic city beautification programmes carried out by the governor within the Orlu Road Junction have brought dynamic improvement in tourist  activities in the state and have significantly upgraded the environment.

The Governor  has proven to be a visionary leader with better ideas through the  numerous  improved environmental transformation programmmes he carried out simultaneously in the three Senatorial Zones of the state. He improved on the areas his predecessor planted grasses along the road by replacing some of them with interlock and German floor. His regime has also maintained some of the grasses where necessary through the services of Rescue sweepers and Gardeners

The difference between his work and that of his predecessor  is the durability value of his City Beautification programmes as seen in the solid projects he has executed in the state.

The projects have potentials to strategically attract tourists and improve the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state. The irresistible attraction and attention he has created with the  Imo State environment is now more appealing to visitors, including youths in the state who are delighted to visit the place every cool evening for relaxation and discussion with loved ones. All his city beautification programmes are geared towards environmental transformation of the state with the sole aim to elevate its outlook.

After looking at various city beautification projects carried out under Governor Okorocha, any unbiased observer can truly testify that indeed there is an paradigm shift in environmental transformation courtesy of his numerous projects like; the water fountains, the land scalping, remodeled Government Roundabout with the names of the 27 local Governments in the state and bible as a symbol signifying that the state is a Christian State, Emmanuel College by Wetheral Road with horse signifying strength, the foot bridges at Orlu Road Round About and Emmanuel College, what of the Children`s Park, Freedom Square, Heroes Square and others too numerous to mention are all living proofs of his lasting city beautification projects.

Based on records with indisputable facts  the city beautification projects  carried out by the Rescue Mission regime of Governor Okorocha, have more durability value. It  is now crystal clear that he has shown capacity to make a difference in environmental transformation. Through the uniqueness of his creative ingenuity, he has moved Imo State out from the old poor era of only planting grass and flowers as city beautification projects to a glorious era of positive change.  Indeed  the  innovation dynamism and diversification he showcased in executing the projects are in line with the 21st century trend, indeed they are eloquent testimonies of his  impressive improvement and a total paradigm shift from the old method.
